What to include in a request
Four things make a request answerable without a follow-up. The property address is the most important, because the address decides the soil, the road authority and the building desk all at once.
The second is what actually needs to happen, in plain terms — a pad for a shop, a drain that has stopped working, a driveway a concrete truck cannot use. Trade vocabulary is not required.
The third is whether anything is already drawn or approved: a survey, a site plan, a building permit number, an engineer's drawing. Existing paperwork usually shortens the whole process.
The fourth is timing, including any date that is already fixed. A BC 1 Call locate needs about a week of lead time and an Agricultural Land Commission Notice of Intent needs 60 days, so a fixed date changes the sequence rather than the price.
